"The Cooper Bussmann® PTP tour exceeded our expectations,” said Joe McDermott, Crescent Electric Supply, Chicago district manager. “The Cooper Bussmann truck was an excellent way to attract customers to our facility. The event gave my district sales team an opportunity to strengthen their customer relationships while learning about Cooper Bussmann product in a relaxed environment."

The two-year Cooper Bussmann North American Productivity Through Protection™ Tour officially launched June 1 with a series of Chicago area Crescent Electric Supply Company events. Each day that week the PTP Tour was hosted by a local Crescent branch location between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Customers were provided lunch and Robert Simon, Cooper Bussmann district sales manager, presented two customer training sessions each day covering 2009 changes for NFPA 70E.

A pre-launch PTP Tour one-day event was held at a St. Louis area Graybar Electric location, May 14. Dave Dapron, Graybar Electric sales manager, agreed, "It was a great event and our customers were very impressed. The combination of the van, where they could see all of the Cooper Bussmann products, and the technical training was extremely valuable. Paul (Friemel, Cooper Bussmann district sales engineer) did a great job on the seminars. The van is definitely a great sales tool to use with our customers."

Friemel presented two different training sessions; one for Graybar Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers with a focus on industrial control panels and short-circuit current ratings while a second seminar was designed for industrial end user/Maintenance, Repair, Operation (MRO) customers with the focus on overcurrent protection considerations and fusible solutions.

"We have 115 PTP Tour events reserved for distributor partners, end users and trade shows," explained Kathy Reinhardt, Cooper Bussmann MarCom manager. "The schedule is filling up, so we recommend distributors register immediately for their own opportunity to utilize this great sales tool with their customers."
